I replicated the...“This work is based on G. Goldstein’s original photograph of Lenin’s historic speech from 5th May 1920, where the people built a makeshift podium for the occasion. I replicated the visible part of this podium and placed it in an allotment. A trail cam, triggered by a motion sensor continues to record the podium over time as it slowly ages. The image became iconic for generations to come, capturing the first self-determined expression of the people at that time. The work examines how the meaning of images transform over time.”
