Warm Dawn, BH (2020) foregrounds themes of desire, joy, intimacy and tenderness, and with its densely painted pink, red and orange, the work depicts an abstracted landscape at dawn. The work takes its title from the poet Brenda Hillman’s work from ‘Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire’ (2013).
Warm dawn, shelf of color: when my love calls out, we also flutter. i place my body between him & the dream. The great dead gather the new apples.
