Fundamental to the language of diagrams, architectural plans and maps, lines are cuts and acts of demarcation that bring units, entities and worlds into being. In my work, I experiment with the doubling of forms to consider how repetition can be an industrial and mechanised act, as well as meditative, ritualistic and performative.

In OURE (2020), clean lines and clinical shades explore processes of disembodiment and sublimation, while in CENTRA (2020), a modular suspended structure invokes both a vertebra and shedded skin — the body’s ‘information highway’ and interface respectively. In MOUS, CURB and CONTE (all 2020), I investigate the emergence of form through the inherent incompleteness of drawing; as an opening up or sketching out, drawing is always directed towards the future.
